Markel Quidera is a board certified health and wellness coach and founder of AERA Wellness in Southern Maryland where she lives with her family. Through AERA, she helps high-achieving professional women move beyond chronic stress and burnout by building sustainable wellness routines that support better sleep, increased energy, and a more balanced life. After years of experience in corporate wellness, Markel recognized that lasting wellness requires more than motivation alone. Her work helps women feel less depleted, recover from stress more easily, and create lives with more calm, capacity, and presence.

My Story

For years, I thought I just needed more discipline.

I was chronically burnt out, constantly overstimulated, reactive, exhausted, and disconnected from myself. My nervous system was so dysregulated that even small noises made me jump. My mood was low, my stress was high, my HRV reflected it, and despite trying to eat healthy and stay active, I couldn’t lose weight or feel like myself again.

As a mom, I felt like I had completely lost who I was while trying to take care of everyone else. So I tried doing more. More workouts. More routines. More pressure. But the harder I pushed, the worse I felt.

The turning point came when I stopped treating wellness like punishment and started focusing on regulation, recovery, and rebuilding self-trust. I slowed down. I started pouring into myself consistently instead of only surviving. And that changed everything. I realized it was NOT about dieting.

My routines became sustainable. My body finally felt safe enough to respond. I lost over 30 pounds, but more importantly, I stopped operating in survival mode. I became calmer, more present, more energized, and more connected to myself again.

Now, this is the exact approach I use with my clients; helping high-achieving women move beyond burnout through sustainable wellness, nervous system support, mindset shifts, movement, and intentional recovery.
